Terms of use and sale

Part A covers using this website. Part B covers buying the governance kit. Written to be read once rather than skimmed and ignored. If any of it is unclear, ask us before you buy.

Version 1.0 · Effective 7 September 2026 · Media Mantra, ABN 89 594 851 152

The short version. Everything here is general information, not advice. The kit is licensed to one business, you can edit it freely, and you get updates for twelve months. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected by anything on this page, and nothing here tries to take them away.

Who you are dealing with

AI Economy Index is published and operated by Media Mantra, ABN 89 594 851 152, of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Contact: hello@aieconomyindex.com.au.

By using this site you agree to Part A. By buying anything you also agree to Part B.

Part A: Using this website

1. Using this site

You may read, print, quote and link to anything on the public pages. You may use our figures in your own work, including commercially, provided you attribute them to AI Economy Index and keep the verification date attached. A price without its date is misinformation, and we would rather you did not create any using our data.

You may not scrape the site systematically in a way that degrades it for others, present our material as your own original research, or use it to train a model you then sell as a competing product.

2. Accuracy and corrections

We publish figures read off primary sources and record the date each was verified. We do not publish estimates dressed as facts, and where a figure cannot be verified we say so rather than filling the gap. Our full method is on the methodology page.

That said, sources change without notice, we make mistakes, and a figure that was right on its verification date may be wrong today. Check anything material against the linked source before you rely on it. If you find an error, tell us. We correct on the page, with the date and what changed, rather than editing silently.

3. Not advice

Everything on this site, and everything in the governance kit, is general information. It is not legal advice, financial advice, tax advice or compliance advice, and using it does not create a lawyer-client or adviser-client relationship. We are not a law firm and we are not licensed to give financial advice.

We do not know your business, your contracts, your industry rules or your risk appetite. Before you act on anything here, have it checked by someone who does.

4. Our content and yours

The writing, design, code, structure and compiled datasets on this site are ours. Underlying facts are nobody's. A regulator's publication date or a vendor's list price is not our property and we make no claim to it. What we own is the selection, verification, arrangement and expression.

Where we quote or link to a third party's material, that material remains theirs and is used for reporting and commentary.

5. Other people's sites

We link to regulators, legislation and vendor pricing pages so you can check us. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for what they say, and linking to one is not an endorsement of anything else on it.

Part B: Buying the governance kit

6. What you are buying

Editable template documents that you download. Specifically:

  • AI Use Policy Kit: five Microsoft Word documents: the AI Use Policy, the automated decision-making privacy wording, the AI Tool Register, the Data-Safety Matrix and the Board One-Pager.
  • Kit Pro: those five documents plus the CFO AI Cost & ROI Workbook, a Microsoft Excel file.
  • Customised policy pack: see clause 12.

You are buying documents, not a service, not software, and not an ongoing engagement. There is no login, no platform and no account to manage.

What they are not. They are templates that require decisions from you. Roughly a dozen points in the documents are marked as decisions you must make about your own business. A template you download and file without reading will not protect you from anything.

7. Price and GST

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Payment is by card through Stripe. We do not store your card details and never see your full card number. A tax invoice is available on request.

8. Delivery

Immediately after payment, Stripe returns you to a confirmation page on this site which verifies the payment and provides your download links. Those links remain valid for seven days.

If you close the page before downloading, or the links expire, email us and we will re-issue them. We do not currently deliver by email, so please download the files while you have them.

If delivery fails for a technical reason and we cannot get the files to you, you get a full refund. That is not a favour, it is clause 11.

9. Your licence

On payment you get a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the documents within one business: a single legal entity and its related bodies corporate.

You may: edit them however you like, rebrand them, put your own logo on them, adopt them as your own internal policies, distribute them to your staff and contractors, and keep using them forever, including after any updates period ends.

You may not: resell them, redistribute them outside your business, publish them publicly, or supply them to clients as part of your own paid services. If you are an adviser, accountant, consultant or law firm wanting to use these with multiple clients, that is a different licence. Email us and we will sort one out rather than have you guess.

10. Updates

Your purchase includes updated versions of the documents you bought for twelve months from the date of purchase, issued when Australian law or regulator guidance changes in a way that affects the wording. We will email you when a new version is available, at the address you used at checkout.

We commit to issuing an update if the automated decision-making provisions change materially before 10 December 2026, and when the OAIC publishes final guidance on them. Beyond that we update when there is something worth updating, not on a schedule.

After twelve months your existing files remain yours forever. You simply stop receiving new versions.

11. Refunds and consumer guarantees

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure you are entitled to a replacement or a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

On top of that, our own policy: if the files do not work, are corrupted, cannot be opened in Word or Excel, or are materially not what this website described, tell us within seven days and we will refund you in full. You do not need to justify it beyond telling us what went wrong.

Because these are downloadable documents that cannot be returned, we do not offer refunds simply for change of mind. If you are unsure whether the kit suits your business, read the product page, which lists every document and its contents, and email us before buying. We would rather answer a question than process a refund.

12. The customised policy pack

The customised pack is a service, not a download. You complete a short online intake form and we return the Kit Pro documents rewritten for your business: your actual tools in the register, your data types in the matrix, your sector's regulators named, and privacy wording drafted for your specific automated or AI-assisted decisions.

Delivery is within five working days of receiving your completed intake form, and includes one round of revisions. It is still general information prepared from what you told us, not legal advice, and it should still be reviewed by your own adviser before adoption.

Because this is work performed specifically for you, once we have started drafting a refund is at our discretion. If you change your mind before we start, you get a full refund. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply regardless.

Part C: General

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows, and subject always to the consumer guarantees in clause 11, our total liability for any claim connected with this site or anything bought through it is limited to the amount you paid us, or, if you paid us nothing, to nothing.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business opportunity or loss of data, arising from your use of the site, the templates or the tools.

We say plainly what this means: you remain responsible for your own compliance. Adopting our templates does not transfer your legal obligations to us, and we cannot be liable for a regulatory outcome in a business we have never seen. That is not a disclaimer trick, it is simply how it works, which is why clause 3 tells you to have a qualified adviser check anything material.

14. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The version and date at the top of the page will change, and the terms that apply to your purchase are the ones in force on the day you bought. Changes are not retrospective.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues to apply.
